Love has many meanings....
It has conquered the strongest of men, caused
kingdoms to fall!
Inspired poets, play writers, novelists, songwriters
etc. Make the
eloquent speaker tie up his words. the graceful
one becomes a klutz,
great acts of sacrifices and deed have been
performed which surpasses
all! What am I referring to? Love of course but
what exactly is
love? there are three types of love; EROS, PHILIA
and AGAPE.
EROS
is the type of love that would exist between a
couple, that intimacy.
it is a desire of which the couple seeks sensual
face to face
relationship. it is summarized as simply being in
love with the
person as it is more of a physical attraction. this
makes your mate
your lover!
PHILIA
This is the brotherly love we would have for
someone, in other words
friendship or companionship.
It involves the sharing of time both
physically and emotionally e.g. friends that do stuff
together- go to games, to the beach, etc.
just simply hanging out, doing things
together. this is a shoulder to shoulder
relationship. I like to summarize this simply by liking someone
the things that makes the
person for what he or she is, the good things and
th acceptance of the weaker points of the individual.
AGAPE
This is the deepest love as it goes beyond what is
physical. It is about total commitment, selflessness.
It means giving love unconditionally and wanting the
best for the person which may sometimes require you
to put the person before yourself. It is being thoughtful,
having concern, and sensitive to the needs of others.
Of all, this love is something that you work at and is
acquired by maturity.
*sigh*
