Merry Christmas everyone!

     I have gathered some simple tips on how to celebrate christmas more enjoyable and less stress and expenses thereof. Here are the following:

1.  Plan ahead. Instead of going on auto-pilot the day after Thanksgiving, hold a family meeting to decide what the group really wants to do and who's going to do what. 

2.  If you need a symbol for giving (in addition to Jesus and the Magi), learn about St. Nicholas. Santa Claus has been completely taken over by commerce. 

3.  Avoid debt. Refuse to be pressured by advertising to overspend. 

4.  Avoid stress. Give to yourself. Don't assume that things have to be the same way they've always been. 

5.  Draw names rather than everyone giving something to everyone else in your giving circle. Set a ceiling for each recipient. Give children ONE thing they really want, rather than so many gifts. If need be, pool funds. 

6.  Give appropriate gifts. Get to know the recipient. Give what they want to receive, not what you want to buy. 

7.  Give alternative gifts. Give 25% of what you spent last year to the needy… individuals or groups locally, nationally or internationally.

    Practice Fair Trade. Buy crafts and clothing from developing countries at alternative gift markets, not from commercial importers, so that artisans receive more for their work.

Give of yourself, not just "stuff" – a coupon book for future services (such as baby-sitting or an "enchanted evening"); something baked, sewn, handmade, composed, etc.; or a family service project, such as working together at a soup kitchen. 

8.  Celebrate Advent for four weeks before Christmas. Use the booklet "Whose Birthday Is It, Anyway?" or some other appropriate guide. 

9.  Put the gifts under the tree shortly before opening them. Then take turns opening them around the tree, not all at once, so that each gift can be admired and each giver thanked. Read to each other, tell stories, play "The Christmas Game," leave the TV off. 

10.  Make changes slowly but persistently. Don't try to change everything and everybody all at once. The resistance will make you feel defeated and lonely. 

I wish I had the guts to walk away from you. To walk away from everything we have and have ever had. Every laugh we share, every second we spend together, every time your laugh and smile touches my heart and soul.

Every time your whispers fill my ears and mind, every time you are in my thoughts when I am with another, every time we wrestle and play, every time we gaze into one another's eyes,every time we stay up and talk and laugh on the phone, every time we go somewhere and enjoy being in the other's presence, and every time we have those serious conversations.

But I can't. You want to know why I can't walk away? Because I know you won't come running after me. You will just run straight to her. The one I see you with and think "That is me when she is not around." It hurts. Why am I not your only one? But you just think, "She is nothing to me. So we will have nothing?" I try to look at the positive side of that. Nothing will last forever, right?

Are you afraid of commitment? You obviously are. You are not the only one. That makes two of us. But I want to leap and just take a chance, with you. But I won't have that chance. I am tired of hurting because of you. But I just can't let you go. It's clear, I can't make you care for me. But there is one problem though, I can't make myself stop caring for you.

I shouldn't care about where you are right now and how you are doing, but I can't hide the worry, concern and hurt inside my broken heart. Right now, I am fighting with emotions that I have never dealt with before. I wish you would understand and care, but I guess I haven't cried loud enough for you to hear me yet. I am so defenseless against this pain and suffering. It is not fair in the least bit.

Sometimes in our relentless effort to find the person we love, we fail to recognize and appreciate the people who love us. We miss out on so  many beautiful things and simply because we allow ourselves to be  enslaved by our own selfish concerns.

Go for the man of deeds and not for the man of words, for you will  find rewarding happiness not with man you love but the man who loves you more. The best lovers are those capable of loving from a distance  far enough to allow the person to grow but never too far to feel the  love within your being.

To let go of someone doesn't mean you have to stop loving, it only  means that you allow that person to find his own happiness without expecting him to come back. Letting go is not just setting the other  person free, but is also setting yourself free from all the bitterness, hatred, and anger that keep in your heart.

Do not let the bitterness rare you away your strength and weaken your faith, and never allow pain to dishearten you, but rather let yourself grow with wisdom in bearing it. You may find peace in loving someone from a distance not expecting something in return. But be careful, for this can sustain life but can never give enough room for us to grow. We can all survive with just beautiful memories of the past, but real peace and happiness come only with open acceptance of what reality is today.

There comes a time in our lives when we chance upon someone so nice and beautiful and we just find ourselves so intensely attracted to that person. This feeling soon become a part of our everyday lives and eventually consumes our thoughts and actions. The sad part of it is when we begin to realize that this person feels nothing more for us than just a friendship. We start our desperate attempt to get noticed and be closer, but in the end our efforts are still unrewarded and we end up being sorry for ourselves.

You don't have to forget someone you love. What you need to learn is how to accept the verdict of reality without being bitter or sorry for yourself. Believe me, you would be better off giving that dedication and love to someone more deserving. Don't let your heart run your life, be sensible and let your mind speak for itself.

Listen not only to your feelings but to reason as well. Always remember that if you lose someone today, it means that someone better is coming tomorrow. If you lose love that doesn't mean you failed in love. Cry if you have to, but make it sure that tears wash away the hurt and the bitterness that the past has left with you. Let go of  yesterday and love will  find its way back  to you. And when it does, pray that it may be the love that will stay and last a lifetime.

Why do we close our eyes when we sleep? When we cry? When we imagine? When we kiss? This is because the most beautiful things in the world are unseen. We are all a little weird and life's a little weird and where we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.

There are things that we never want to let go of, people we never want to leave behind, but keep in mind that letting go isn't the end of the world, it's the beginning of a new life.

Happiness lies for those who cry those who hurt, those who have and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of the people who have touched their lives.

A great love? It's when you shed tears and still you care for him. It's when he ignores you and still you long for him.  It's when he begins to love another and yet you still smile and say I'm happy for you. If love fails, set yourself free, let your heart spread its wings and fly again. Remember you may find love and lose it, but when love lies, you never have to die with it.

The strongest people are not those who always win but those who stand back up when they fall. Somehow along the course of life, you learn about yourself and realize there should never be regrets, only a life long appreciation of the things you've made.

A true friend understands when you say, I forgot, waits forever when you say, just a minute, stays when you leave me alone, opens the door even when you close it.

Loving is not how you forget but how you forgive, not how you listen but how you understand, not what you see but how you feel and not how you let go but hold on.

It's more dangerous to weep inwardly rather than outwardly, Outward tears can be wiped away while secret tears scars forever.

In Love, very rarely do we win but when love is true, even if you lose you still win just for having the tingle of loving someone more than you love yourself.

There comes a time when we have stop loving someone not because that person has stopped loving us but because we have found out that they'd happier if we let go. If you really love someone never let go, don't believe that letting go means that you love best, instead fight for your love, that's what true love is.

It's best to wait for the one you love than settle for one that's available, Best to wait for the one you love than one who is around, best to wait for the right one because life is to short to waste on just someone. Sometimes the one you love turns out to be the one who hurts you the most, and sometimes the friend who takes you into his arms and cries when you cry turns out to be the love you never knew you wanted.
